Description
A Type R thermocouple is a high-temperature temperature sensor designed to measure temperatures from approximately 0°C to 1600°C. It is made from platinum and platinum-rhodium (Pt-Pt-13%Rh) wires and is commonly used in high-temperature applications such as furnaces, kilns, heat-treatment plants, glass industries, and ceramic processing. Type R thermocouples provide good accuracy and stability at high temperatures, making them suitable where reliable temperature measurement up to 1600°C is required.
